Yesterday I turned 27. It's an insignificant birthday for most. For me, that's probably why it felt so important.

We're all so focused on milestones and big results that we forget to enjoy the little, in-betweens.

Yesterday was a day full of almost all of my favorite things in the world.

  • I wrote
  • I worked
  • I worked out
  • I played music - piano and clarinet in a studio for a friend...something I've never done and it was a great learning experience
  • I listened to music
  • I ate good food
  • I spent time with people I love
  • I laughed. A lot.
  • I walked in the rain - rain gets a bad rap, we should play in it more often
  • I played with my dog
  • I kissed my wife

When you step back to take a look at the bigger picture of life, it's amazing how simple it is to fill your life with happiness.

Turning 27 is fine and dandy, but my big take away is that more days should look like yesterday.
