New Sleep Aid?

A few months ago I posted about a vitamin I was using to help me fall asleep and stay asleep. The gummy vitamins I used were fantastic. Effective and efficient, I quickly noticed results. However, my only problem with the vitamins were that they cost $13-$15 per jar and a jar will last me less than a month. In the grand scheme of things, that's not much to me get a good night's rest.

However, I was recently reading something written by Tim Ferris and I discovered a new sleep cocktail that he and a few other high performers recommend. The cocktail is simple.


2 Tablespoons - Apple Cider Vinegar

1 Tablespoon - Honey

1 Cup/1 Mug - Boiling Water

In theory this drink is almost like a hot tea. It's recommended that you drink it about 30 minutes or so before you would like to be asleep. I've been drinking this mix the last few nights and I have been blown away.

I wasn't sure how I'd feel about drinking vinegar, but when mixed together it ends up tasting a bit like hot apple cider or warm apple juice. I was pleasantly surprised with the taste.

What I've also found is that on the nights where I drink this cocktail before I get in bed, I fall asleep quicker and I stay asleep. I don't wake up 5-6 times a night. At most, I will wake up once over the course of 7-9 hours. Now, I'm still working with a limited number of nights of experience under my belt, but I'm planning to continue using this method until it stops working.

It's also worth noting that over the course of a month, the apple cider vinegar and honey required to make this drink every night will cost me less than the two jars of vitamins I would need for the same purpose.
