I thought I was getting more awkward, but turns out most people are just getting worse at having conversations with other people.

I think most marketers (and wannabe marketers) are losing their edge and becoming more uncreative every day. Creativity is a learned skill, not a personality trait and not enough marketers are flexing that muscle and developing it.

Don’t get comfortable. Keep hunting.
